Movin Miranda is based in Malaysia and keenly pursues his quizzing hobby and is a partner at ‘QUIZICIAN,’ which organises and conducts General Knowledge and special subject quizzes. Quizician also runs three popular FB based groups each with 12000+ followers (Quizzers, Quizician, Quizlings). He has conducted over 1000 quizzes starting from 1982.
He sets and conducts an annual quiz for schools in Malaysia each year since 2006 for the Rotary Club of Bandar Sunway in Malaysia at six cities spread over Malaysia. As a question setter and QM, Movin Miranda offers unmatched experience and expertise, and an amazing content library, rich in multimedia content with unique formats and rounds.
Movin ranks consistently in the top 200 in the World Quizzing Championship by IQA (International Quizzing Association – currently ranked 35). He is also twice winner of the Asian Quiz Championships.
Movin Miranda is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Bangalore University in India and has since made a career in Industrial Product Marketing and now serves as GM in a Malaysian firm, supplying hi-tech engineering goods to the Oil and Gas market in Malaysia and South-East Asia and executing mid-size EPC projects.
A cosmopolitan, third-culture, Hong Kong kid, Ayeesha was educated through the ESF before receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Anthropology in the UK. After returning to HK and completing her Post Graduate Certificate of Education, she began a career working in international schools. She now is a teacher at HKCA PLK School.
Ayeesha is a passionate learner and educator who conducts quiz nights all over HK. A teacher by day with a thirst for trivia, she enjoys writing interesting questions with wordplay and detail that allows participants to intelligently guess answers if they don't already know them. According to her, a good quiz should be inclusive and allow people to demonstrate their knowledge without alienating anyone. As she always says "If you don't know the answer, you should want to know the answer!" because quizzes seek to celebrate a love of learning.
Ayeesha also runs an events company and works with several high profile charity events throughout the year, raising money for the local community. She conducts corporate quizzes, charity quizzes, school quizzes and pub quizzes and is looking forward to her third year co-hosting Mind Over Matter, Hong Kong Inter School Quiz.
TSol (Tvameva Solutions Overseas Limited) is a Capability Enhancement firm in the APAC region with several years of experience in conducting workshops in the areas of Skill & behaviour, Leadership, Storytelling For Leaders, Executive Presence, Mind Over Matter, Diversity and Outbound, to name a few.
TSol successfully conducted Mind Over Matter - Hong Kong Inter School Quiz for the last 3 years and the third edition featured participation from 32 teams with 96 students.
Hi! My name is Zinei, I am a Junior at Renaissance College, I am one of the videographers for the event, and look forward to capturing the lively yet real moments during the competition, some of my hobbies are boxing, gardening and playing the saxophone.

My name is Coco Li, and I am a Year 12 student at Renaissance College Hong Kong. Along with my partner, Zinei, we will be the videographers for the event. Hey! My name is Danielle Tsang and I am a Year 12 student from Renaissance College. I am one of the photographers and I am very excited to capture all the radiant action and energy in this event. I love creating art with photography and is delighted for this opportunity. My interests include traveling, photo-taking, sports, and anything to do with outdoors.
My name is Aika Noguchi and I am a student in Year 12, Island School and will be the photography for the event. I have been interested and passionate about photography ever since I did a course in school. I just love the feel of capturing a moment that tells a whole story and sharing that story with others. I also enjoy, art and design and figure skating.
I am Billy Lam from HKMA David Li Kwok Po College and I will be one of the MC’s for Mind Over Matter. From a young age, I have been curious about all kinds of things around me and want to learn how each thing works and how it’s made.
Some of my hobbies are hiking and making train layout models. It is my pleasure to be one of the MC’s with my partner Ira for this event.
My name is Ira Maliksi. I grew up with 2 brothers, me being the middle child. I had a nomadic childhood. My parents moved around a lot as my father was stationed in different countries such as Sri Lanka, Oman, Singapore, Philippines and now, Hong kong where I’ve lived for the past ten years. Accustomed to constantly moving, I’ve always enjoyed experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. I’m currently studying in HKMA David Li Kwok Po College, taking Business Management and Visual Arts as my electives. I’m also the chairman of the Art Club at school. My hobbies include Painting, Singing, and playing volleyball. I am truly grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have come my way.
Mind Over Matter, Hong Kong Inter School Quiz 2017 - What a day it turned out to be! Full on charged up participants, engaging questions, lots of laughter and an absolutely sharp finals with the winner being decided on a buzzer tie-breaker!
Congrats, Island School, for lifting the trophy and earning bragging rights to be called the Best School Quizzers. Along with the Trophy, they also won SkullCandy Wireless Headphones.
French International School finished as 1st Runner up in a razor edge finish, and they won a trophy and Skull Candy Headphones, and Hong Kong International School finished as 2nd Runner up and won a trophy and BSD Virtual Headsets.
