What a day it was! Such full-on participation from the Students, supporting teachers and wonderful sponsors! Thanks all, for a grand event!
The event was a platform for students to display their strengths, learn behaviours that facilitate working in a collaborative environment, celebrate each other's success and to network among peers. It was showcased as an event by students for students - diverse set of participants, MC's from HKIS - keeping the program well knitted together, photographers - from Island School and CDNIS, ensuring the moment and the spirit of the event is captured as participants experience a sense of pride representing their schools, Videographer - from KGV, an experienced film and video champion. Exceptional and diverse talent was on display.
Brian Wong, our Brand Ambassador, well known among student community as an Ace Debater and Mentor was there to provoke students to think laterally and creatively. An inspiration to many, he provoked the students' thought process with his power packed interaction on 'Effective Use of Social Media'.
An engrossing preliminary session consisting of Rounds on Sports, Comics, Cartoon & Computer Games, Literature & Music, Geography & Astronomy, Science & Technology and History & Ancient Civilisations, with 26 teams vying for a place in the finals!
The preliminaries saw Renaissance College Team 2, Island School Team 3, Island School Team 5, Marymount School - 1, Marymount School - 2, GSIS - Team 2, Island School Team 5, HKIS Team 2, GSIS Team 2 & Island School Team 2 emerging as Winners of the Round prizes. It also saw the top five teams - GSIS Team 2, QSI International School of Shenzhen Team 1, GSIS Team 1, South Island School & Island School Team 4 making it to the finals.
Hong Kong, History & Ancient Civilsation, Sports, followed by a round with negative marking, Current Affairs, Geography, Astronomy & Nature, Science & Technology and a grand Differential round, saw Island School Team 4 emerge as Winner with bragging rights to be called as the Best School Quizzers! Close second were the team from South Island School and GSIS Team 2 emerged as the 2nd Runners up!
Congrats to all the Students who participated and to everyone who stayed till the end to support the finalists while actively contesting for the Audience prizes! Truly embodying the spirit of competition!
The feedback from the teams was very encouraging as it was a unique experience for them to represent their schools and compete in a thrilling and positive environment. The atmosphere was lively and buzzing with activity. During the break the photo booth provided a lot of fun and kept them engaged.
